In very different ways, the representational world flows into the work of Georg Thumbach, Guido Weggenmann, Günter Schmid, Vesna Kovacic and Bruno Wank. Georg Thumbach goes into nature for his large-scale studies when he captures undergrowth in large format on paper or wood. Guido Weggenmann, on the other hand, combines things from everyday life in an almost irreverent way. You also have to look closely at Günter Schmid’s photos. His shots of bathers on the beach or of a seated man in a shopping mall initially seem like hyperrealistic painting. A trademark for Vesna Kovacic are her black and white reliefs with a surface of irregular folding and black and white structure. The play between structure and its break-up shifts towards a more open structure.
